40m Radio Telescope

The Observatory of Yebes (IGN) is classified as an ICTS (Spanish Unique Scientific and Technical Infrastructure) by the Ministry of Science and Universities for the 2021-2024 period. It is publicly owned by the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility. The Observatory is a cutting-edge research facility that promotes innovation, advances knowledge, and facilitates technology transfer to national companies and other institutions.

The 40m radio telescope is its main "Outstanding Facility" that qualifies it as an ICTS. The telescope is available to astronomers worldwide through a competitive process under an open-sky policy. Telescope access requirements are detailed in the proposal section of this website.
